I wanted to thank you for offering your "Beyond 6 Strings" series. All artists were very talented and their technical ability was wonderful to experience, but your music and the quality of sound you are able to produce with the harp guitar has a depth and soul which made your performance outstanding. I first heard you play in the 80's at Mt Angel Abbey and have had the privilege to hear you several times since then. It's obvious that God's love and peace shine through in your composing and performance. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent.

Hi John,
I've been meaning to drop you a line, but just about the time I'm about to get around to it , I forget! It's an age thing . My group Horizon will
be on a mini tour in and around the Seattle area . We'll be in Olympia, WA at the K.J. Minnaert Center on April 25th . The Auburn Riverside Theater in Auburn, WA on the 26th . On the 27th . we'll be in the Illsely Ball Nordstrom Hall (Benaroya Hall) in Seattle . That's a matinee performance . Then take a late flight home that night. The other concerts are at 7:30 pm . We're doing these concerts with Cabin Fever NW . Their a duet out of Bellingham, WA . They Co-won "The Peoples Choice Award" with us in January at the Winter Folk Festival in Florence, OR . This was our second year in a row to win the award . In 2007 we won it outright . However, this year it was a joy share the award with Cabin Fever NW because we just love these two ladies . To make along story shorter . I was I hoping that our paths would cross again . It's been along since we last shared a stage together . I ofter think about you and your great talent and what a joy it is to be around you my friend . I see by your Calender that you're doing a concert on the 26th . Perhaps we'll link up someday soon again . I miss the few times that I had the good fortune to perform with you and I didn't even mind that your wonderful talent clearly shown mine much lacking by comparison and I very much mean that my friend .

I recently met a wonderful gentleman on Match.com ... and yes ... we have fallen in love. He is a gifted musician focusing in recent years on perfecting his finger-style guitar playing. He has been researching the harp guitar, believing that its ethereal tones would lend itself to his tunes. Anyway, on my own, I found your site ... and I have to say that I'm ready to move to Oregon just hear you play! :) Your music is absolutely mesmerizing, John, and I thank you for your inspiration. Found a link to you from Jeff Johnson's site. Didn't realize until I heard your music that I have a couple CDs you are on! Your instrument and musicianship are outstanding! I especially enjoyed the video on YouTube of "St. Patrick in the Spirit." I play guitar a little (not very well) but I also play the wire-strung Celtic harp. Sometimes your guitar harp sounds very similar to my harp (only much better!) God bless you and your family during this season.

The first I heard of your music was "Gazing On The Face Of The Sea" playing on the radio. After that I had to get the Wayfarer CD, now I collecting all the others too. I haven't seen your CD's in the shops anywhere (I'm in Australia) but at least I can buy them online.

We are having a Doan Family reunion in the village of Galahad, Alberta on July 25, 26, 27, 2008-the Lord willing! This is the family of Albert Doan (descendent of Ebenezer Doan)& Matilda Johnson. My mom (Bertha EUNICE) was the oldest in that family. I believe you met my cousin Hazel Doan Reeh.
We farm in east central AB.

Saw you last week in San Diego. Haven't ever heard of you, or hear your music, I went in with no expectations of what your music was like. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! I (as a guitar player) have never heard anything so beautiful and pleasant. After the first song, I was silently hoping I could somehow get some of your music - - and then you said you had CDs for sale at intermission. I bought one, and my brother, who lives in San Diego and I was visiting, bought 2. I just got back from Cal (I live in North Texas), and played them for my wife - she loves it to! My mission now is to find out how to connect you with the local university, which is famous for its music, especially the jaz department, and see if we can't get you a performance here (University of North Texas)! I'm sure the students and locals will love your music too. I'll be keeping in touch! Until then, keep up the beautiful music!

So great to see that you continue with your inspiration. Not sure if you remember me or not, but I was a student of yours at WOSC back in 1987. I moved to Alaska in 1987 and have been involved in the music scene ever since. The last 10 years or so I've been playing bluegrass in a great group. I know,it was not a part of your lesson plan, but it does make the heart glad. Heck, I even play in the national bluegrass band for the Department of Interior. crazy eh?
